Charlie Kirk assassination: Marine fired for social media post

A Marine officer has been relieved of his duties and is under investigation following a social media post in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death, according to officials.

This comes after the Pentagon issued a “zero tolerance” policy for any posts that “celebrate or mock the assassination of a fellow American.”

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell announced the policy on Thursday, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth calling those types of posts “completely unacceptable.”
