Police reportedly used live ammunition to control the situation, as well as water cannon and tear gas.

The Gen-Z led demonstrations were over alleged government corruption and a social media ban – which has now been lifted.

Despite Oli’s resignation, protesters are now demanding for the government to dissolve – the country has had 13 since 2008.
