The Easiest SEO Strategy I’ve Ever Used

The easiest SEO strategy I’ve ever used. People assume that SEO is all work and no play. And yeah, there is a ton of work that goes into it. Anything that requires you to follow through on a long-term strategy is going to require some serious ongoing effort. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t find ways to make your SEO easier.

In fact, I have one SEO strategy that’s super simple. I rely on it all the time and it knocks out a ton of the dirty work for me. Now, I may have been doing SEO for a super long time, but I even run into walls sometimes, and I need help getting unstuck. And for me, I have a lot of responsibilities. So I really need to find ways to delegate, simplify and streamline my approach. So can you guess what my easy SEO hack is?

I leverage AI. Pretty straightforward, right? I need help for my SEO, from finding keywords to content ideas to meta text, I’m always looking for new approaches that can make my life easier and more simple. AI is rapidly becoming one of the most adopted new technologies that businesses of all sizes can leverage.

SEO-centric AI is truly necessary because it connects the dots for everything that I need to bring my SEO strategy together. So that way it all flows and it’s cohesive. It helps me analyze a relationship between my website, the content and ranking, and it helps me pivot quickly so I can continue to outrank my competition.

It also helps me identify opportunities including cutting edge topics in my industry that need addressing and that my audience wants to explore. Also, helps me optimize for conversions, including insights for how each page can accomplish a specific goal, such as a conversion to a sale, or sign up or subscribe, or redirect them to somewhere else, or refreshing outdated stake content to get the boost I need.

In fact, according to Outranking, 30% of AI adopters cited a 6 to 10% increase in revenue after implementing the new technology. Now, that’s major growth. The machine learning tool that uses AI, it’s called GPT-3 and you’ve heard about it. It’s been available now, publicly through Open AI. And it’s great, and you should check it out. So far in 2022, it’s sweeping the SEO marketplace and tons of major software engineers are taking note.

Tools like Search Atlas, CopySmith, Jasper, Copy.ai and many more are using it to fit in their applications and make content marketing easier, which makes it easier for you to create SEO content at scale. Now, in it’s most basic level, it’s a text generator, right? You should check out GPT-3.

But because it can create content with relatively few inputs, it’s also extremely helpful to SEO users that need a ton of content fast. Tools that incorporate GPT-3 into their software can now do things like generate topics for you, titles, meta tags, even create a whole article, or just do blog outlines and then let you pick what content you want to create for each and every single paragraph. And if you don’t like one, you can click don’t like, and then it spits up a new variation.

I like relying on AI for title and topic generation, meta tag generation, and even the occasional outline if I really want to get going. The best part, it’s all automated and it saves you so much time. And what I found that if you’re new to blogging, it can save you roughly half the time or it can save you your whole time. If you really want to write articles that are super creative and best for users, you’re going to have to modify that article, or you know, write a lot of it from scratch. And that’s what I like doing to streamline my SEO.

Answer the Public allows you to tap directly into your audience and go for those terms that aren’t that competitive that a lot of people are searching for today. Answer the Public listens and taps into the auto-complete data before cranking out super useful phrases and questions that your audience is searching for every single day. It’s one of the easiest ways to identify what your audience wants. And then you can use some of those AI tools to help you create content around those topics.

So if you want to create better content using these AI tools, check out Answer the Public to get you new insights. And if you just want my team to do all this for you, check out NP Digital.

The Biggest SEO Mistake I’ve Made

The biggest SEO mistake I’ve ever made. What does a national park, a war, and a casino all have in common? Well, I’ll give you a hint. It involved my biggest SEO mistake.

RESOURCES & LINKS:

Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________

Leave a comment below, letting me know what you think my biggest SEO mistake is. I gave you that hint right? Now before I break down my SEO mistake, I want to first tell you that you need to think long term.

See, I was shortsighted when I first got started into the role of entrepreneurship and marketing. When I was in my early twenties, and even before that, when I was 16, 17, 18, because I started SEO when I was around 16 years old. And to give you context, now I’m 37. I want to make money fast. So fast, I look for shortcuts.

And there was this one site called Battlefield Bypass which was expired domain with a lot of authoritative links. These links were naturally generated and not purchased because it was a national park site. And it was part of the award that happened on that land. So I bought it, converted it into online casino site. Within months, I was ranking the top three positions on Google for the term “online casino”.

That keyword is worth hundreds and thousands of dollars a month in affiliate revenue. Not thousands, hundreds of thousands to give you perspective. That’s millions of dollars a year. That’s a lot of money, especially when you’re under 20 years old. But within months, Google whacked me! All of a sudden that site lost all of its rankings. In essence, I was trying to cheat the system by getting traffic and rankings by cheating instead of providing value.

See, the sites that rank in the top in the long run are the ones that users love the most. No one that cheats their way to the top lasts forever. Just think of it this way. You don’t really care if a site at the top has a lot of back links or better on page code. You only care if that site solves your problem and ideally in a quick and affordable fashion.

Now I learned a lot from this mistake, and I made tones of others as well. But I had the shortcut mentality when I was young and I was growing up. And if I could go back in time I would stop taking shortcuts. And I would be much further in my career even as an entrepreneur. That’s my big SEO mistake.

If you’re struggling with SEO, and you don’t want to make all the mistakes that I’ve made, and you want to get your rankings by providing value to users and using ethical, clean tactics check out my ad agency, NP digital. My 4 Favorite SEO Tools (And The Ones That Are a Time Waste)

There are one to many SEO tools. It can be overwhelming. So today I’m going to break down my favorite four. Today I’m going to break down my four favorite SEO tools and the ones that are a time-waste.

RESOURCES & LINKS:

Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
Click Flow: https://www.clickflow.com/
Google: https://www.google.com/
Google trends: https://trends.google.com/trends/

____________________________________________

Number one, of course, Ubersuggest is one of my own tools. What I really love the most in Ubersuggest there’s a few features and I’m going to break them down, is whenever you’re doing keyword research in the keyword ideas report, you can click on this button, page one, ranking potential, and you put in your URL and it’ll tell you all the keywords that you can rank page one on, based on your domain authority, your on page SEO, how long your site’s been around.

So it’ll tell you what you actually have a shot to rank for right now. Right? And that’s great because SEO is a long game, but who doesn’t want to see more short-term results. The other feature that I really love in Ubersuggest is the competitor analysis. I can put in my domain name and my competitor’s domain name.

And it’ll show me all the keywords that they rank for the I don’t rank for. And it’ll also show me all the keywords that you know, I’m ranking for, that they’re also ranking for. And then you want to check out what are the keywords that they’re ranking for that you’re not even targeting because that’s a keyword gap. That’s your opportunities.

Another feature that I love in Ubersuggest is the back links opportunity report. And if someone’s linking to three of my competitors, you know that if they linked to three of my competitors, they don’t mind linking to other websites in my space. So if I take the time and hit them up, there’s a great chance that they’ll link back to me.

The next tool I like is Click Flow. It’s used to test your title tags and your meta description. This is great because a lot of times you can boost your rankings, not by building more links, but just getting more clicks. If everyone does a Google search for a keyword like dog shoes and they click on the second result, instead of the first result, it tells Google that no one wants a first result. They prefer the second result and they’ll switch the rankings.

The next tool I like, Google search console. It’s free. You can discover keywords that you need to double down on. Here’s what I mean by that. Go to Google search console, see the pages that are getting traffic.

Look for the keywords that you’re ranking for the bottom of page one, on page two, page three. And see if you’re using those keywords within your content. If not, if those keywords are relevant, integrate them, it’ll boost your rankings for those terms, helps you double down and you should see results within 30 days.

Of course, one of my last favorite tools is Google trends. It allows you to explore new opportunities and find a lot of great keywords and categories to go after, especially what’s trending. And what’s going on an upward trend versus a downward trend because you want to go after more keywords and terms that are on an upward trend.

As for a time-waste, you know, when you look at very technical SEO auditing tools, there’s a lot of them out there. It’s only worth it if you have huge websites with thousands of images, complex internal linking structures, unless you have a critical technical SEO problem.

Most of the time, you won’t need to be running lots of crazy in depth audits. You can do a lot for free within just the Ubersuggest, auto report. Now think about the ROI of your efforts. What’s working best in your SEO. Don’t spend time and money on all the tools and activities that aren’t really yielding those results. But for most of your day-to-day stuff, you’re not going to be using those features. You’re just going to be paying for stuff that you don’t use.

So instead, I want you to focus on what’s driving your ROI. Go look in your Google analytics, go look at what’s driving the conversions, your goals, what content, what channels. Focus more on that than wasting your time looking at 20 tools.

It’s not just about the cost. Cost isn’t the issue of the tools. The real issue with using too many tools is it’s a big time suck. If you spent your time on what’s generating your ROI, you’ll make more money.

The ONLY Features You Need to Use in SEO Tools

Are you getting overwhelmed with your SEO reports and all the tools? There are so many out there. Well, don’t worry. You’re not alone. Today, I’m going to break down the only features you need to use in SEO tools.Don’t get bogged down by reports and features and tools. That do very little to actually get you more rankings. I’m going to break down four main features and reports that you need to rank higher. And here’s best of all, you can do pretty much all of this in Ubersuggest.

RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________

You can find it in neilpatel.com/ubersuggest, or just go to ubersuggest.com. And you can do literally most of this stuff for free in Ubersuggest. That’s what’s great. So in that sense, we’ll go down the four main features you need to use and how you can do it for free.

So, let’s dive right in. Number one, Rank Tracking, Look, on Google, if you don’t know what your rankings are, if they’re going up or if they’re going down, or how things are improving or declining, how are you going to improve? Those things are really important, right? Be here’s the thing with SEO, it’s a long game.

And Rank Tracking shows you that, and it can track your rankings on a daily basis and a weekly basis, whatever you prefer. And you can even track your rankings on mobile devices and desktop. You can do the all in Ubersuggest for free. And what’s cool about that is that way you can see how you’re performing on different device types. And it tells you when you’re doing SEO, what’s working and what isn’t.

The second thing that you need to look at with these SEO tools is Competitive Analysis. Competitive Analysis tells you what your competitors are doing and what’s working for them. Look, you don’t want to recreate the wheel. You want to do what’s working for others, and just do it better. Why start from scratch?

And what’s cool is, you can see the keywords by clicking on the Keywords button and you’ll see all the keywords that that page ranked for. And that’ll tell you, hey, should I also create a page that’s very similar. Well, if I do, now I know what keywords to go after because it’s related to my business and it can also drive me sales.

And another cool feature is you can also see all the backlinks that are driven to that page. All the other sites that are link into your competitor’s page. Because here’s the thing, if someone wants to link to your competitor, they’re probably willing to link to you too.

So now, you got a list of links going to your competitors. So, you can create a better page than that’s more thorough, go after all their keywords, and you can also hit up all the people linking to them and ask them to link to you too.

The other cool thing that I like about the Competitive Analysis report on Ubersuggest, you can see how much traffic your competitors getting. If they’re getting more traffic month over month or less traffic month over month, because Google is doing so many updates.

The third report that you need to look at and feature within these SEO tools is Keyword Ideas. Now, the Keyword Ideas report in Ubersuggest gives you all these ideas that you can go after.

So, you want to go after popular keywords. And what’s cool about the Ubersuggest Keyword Ideas report, you can actually filter it by some any region, such as United States or Canada, or UK, or India, or Brazil, or even South Korea.

And within the Keyword Ideas report in Ubersuggest, there’s also a Content Ideas report. What that’ll show you all the content that you can write about that are related to those keywords. So, you can see what’s popular on Facebook, what’s popular on Pinterest, what’s popular from the backlinks perspective, and what’s even popular from an organic SEO perspective.

The last factor, and this is number four, is Backlinks. If you don’t get people linking to you, you’re not going to do well. Backlinks are like votes.

So, you want to get ideally bigger sites linking to you and more relevant sites. And you can use the Backlinks report within Ubersuggest. And what’s cool is they have a Backlink Opportunity report more specifically, where you can put in your URL and then your competitor URLs. And it’ll show you all the people that linked to your competitors, but don’t link to you.

Because if someone links to not just one but two, three, four of your competitors and they don’t link to you, the chances are they don’t mind linking to other people in your space because they’re already linked to lots of your competitors.

My 7 Favorite Free SEO Tools to Get Page #1 Rankings on Google | SEO takes too much time to do it manually, and if you unautomate a big chunk of your SEO work, you don’t need to break the bank to do it. Over the last sixteen years of being a SEO, I figured out the right tools to use to help you rank number one on Google. Today, I’m going to share my seven favorite free SEO tools that’ll help you get on page one of Google.

Now, before I dive into the tools, I’m going to break down them into three main categories. They’re going to be keyword research, then I’m going to go into link building, and then technical SEO.

So the tools will fit into one of those three categories. So let’s first start with keyword research.

The first tool I have for you is FAQ Fox. Most people think only as keywords instead of thinking of problem.

When someone’s looking for a new phone, chances are they’re not satisfied with their old phone. When someone’s looking up a math equation, chances are they don’t know the solution, hence, they’re looking it up.

FAQ Fox finds you questions that people want to be answered based on specific site that you want information from.

The second tool that I have for you is Ubersuggest Keyword Ideas. Ubersuggest has recently expanded its database from being a simple keyword tool where it has just basic terms, seed terms like marketing, to now over 1.2 million suggestions per keyword.

My favorite feature within the Keyword Ideas Report is the Comparisons Report, and the reason being is it’ll give you all the keywords that are comparison-based.

Typically, when someone’s searching for comparison-based keywords such as “Mailchimp versus ConvertKit,” they’ve already determined that they’re going to make a purchase.

The question is, what solution are they going to make?

Now, with Ubersuggest, it also shows you the search volume, the paid difficulty, the organic difficulty, and it even shows you all the other sites that are ranking, as well as how many backlinks they have, as well as social shares.

The second category of tools I have for you are related to link building. One of my favorite tools out there is a MozBar.

So the more authority that these sites have, and the more relevant they are, and when they link to you, it’s going to do way better than, let’s say, if Joe the Plumber linked to you.

See, with the MozBar, whenever you visit any website, it’ll tell you their domain authority and their page authority. It’s great to know which sites you should be focusing on when it comes to your link building versus which sites you need to ignore because it’s just not worth the time and effort.

The next tool I have for you is Backlinks by Ubersuggest. It’s another great tool!

All you have to do is go to Ubersuggest, type in a URL, click on the Backlinks button in the left navigation. When you do that, you’ll see the Backlinks Report. It’ll tell you the domain score of the site. It’ll tell you the authority of all the URLs linking to that site. It’ll even tell you the anchor text, the link growth over time, how many new links are getting over each and every single day, and how many links are losing each and every single day.

You’ll even see anchor text. You’ll even see things like how many no follow links a website has versus do follow, when these links first came to that site, when they link out. You’ll see when the link is also lost, the exact date.

Now, what I mainly use the Ubersuggest Backlinks Report for is typing in my competitor URLs, seeing what pages on their site are popular, what’s getting the most links, and I typically start from there.

The third category of tools I have for you are related to technical SEO. So let’s start with the Panguin Tool.

The next tool I have for you is Structured Data Markup Helper.

Look, if you want to maximize your voice traffics, over 50% of the searches now are voice-based, this will help. If you want things like rich snippets,if you want those star ratings, you need Structure Markup.

STOP Paying for SEO Tools – The Only 4 Tools You Need to Rank #1 in Google

STOP Paying for SEO Tools – The Only 4 Tools You Need to Rank #1 in Google | When I got started in SEO, there were dozen of tools out there. They were all expensive, and, hey, unless you wanted rankings, you would have to pay for one of these tools. But times have changed. There’s not just dozens of tools now, there’s hundreds of tools. And because of that, there’s a lot of free ones as well. Today, I’m going to breakdown why you should stop paying for SEO tools, and only use these four free tools if you want to rank number one on Google.

So, tool number one. You ready for this? Google Search Console.

Here’s what I love Google Search Console for. I do a comparison of my traffic right now, for the last 30 days, to my traffic six months ago. And I look for the pages that have the biggest drop off in impressions and clicks. I now know that these are the pages that I need to go back on my site, go and adjust and update.

You may add some videos if you think that helps improve the experience. You delete the stuff that doesn’t make sense. You shorn out the fluff, because sometimes, you may have just long articles because you were trying keyword stuff.

The second tool I have for you is Structured Data Markup Helper. Look, if you want those star ratings on your site, you want to be included in the rich snippets, you want your listing to stand out, you got to use structured data.

But how do you use structured data? Well, it’s complicated because depending on the type of website you have, the structured data is going to look different.

So that way, when someone’s doing a search on Google, they can see all those little breadcrumbs, and that helps increase your click-through rate.

The third tool I have for you, Google Trends. This is super important. The reason being is if your brand continually gets searched more and more, you’ll notice that your rankings increase. So, it’s all about brand building. And you’ll find, “Hey, Neil, “why do I need to increase my brand?” Well, Google, Facebook, and all the social sites out there have issues of fake news.

And Google Trends shows you that.

Now, last but not least, another free tool, Ubersuggest. If you want to do SEO, Ubersuggest has the features of Moz, SEMrush, Ahrefs, pretty much the majority 80 plus percent of their features for free.

So, if you want to site audit, well there’s an SEO audit report in Ubersuggest that breaks down your load time, your title tags, your meta description, your code errors, your URL issues, your redirect issues.

And it tells you how to fix each of them. And it breaks down in priority on which ones you should change first to get the maximum amount of traffic. You’re looking for more keywords to go after? Ubersuggest also has a keyword ideas report.

And the keyword ideas report shows you all the keywords that you can go after. According to Jumpshot, roughly 49% of the searches that happen on Google get no clicks. Well, with Ubersuggest, they’ll show you keywords that are based on questions, comparisons, prepositions.

These are all high intent keywords. So if you after them in your copy, you’ll find that you’ll get more clicks, more traffic, and those visitors that are aligning on your site will convert because you’re not just going after generic keywords now. There’s also backlinks report.

You can put in any URL of your competitor or your site. Shows you who links to them. And then you can hit up all those people, assume you put in a competitor URL, and ask them to link back to your site if your content’s better.

This will give you an idea of the type of content you should produce versus the type of content you shouldn’t produce.

And, of course, last but not least, there’s a traffic analyzer report that shows you how much traffic your competitors are getting versus you. So you have a rough comparison of what you need to do to improve your traffic.
