I discuss the physical, mental, and societal issues that the rise usage of social media is causing, such as political polarization. I also talk about the rise in depression and anxiety in teenagers and how internet use is encouraging narcissistic behavior through an online dopamine rush and a false sense of validation. Finally, I discuss online censorship and the tendency for the algorithm to propel us into an echo chamber, as well as the link between increased screen time and a disturbing rise in violence among young adults .
