It’s like if you find a unique way to talk about your product or service that not many use. That’s what we’re doing with these particular phrases or keywords. The concept also applies to various areas, such as SEO marketing, SEO law, SEO tech, or even an SEO career, ensuring your page uniquely answers queries about these topics.

As a reminder, the best way to indicate a preferred site name to Google is to use WebSite structured data, as explained in our site name documentation.

We’ve updated that documentation to encourage more use of the alternate name property.

Sometimes, a preferred site name isn’t available for use.

For example, our system generally uses a different name for two other global sites.
