The Psychology of People Who Don’t Post on Social Media
We live in a world obsessed with sharing, yet some people remain completely invisible online. They scroll quietly, observe deeply, and never post. Why do they choose silence when the whole world is shouting for attention? This video dives deep into the fascinating psychology behind ‘ghost scrollers’ and non-posters. It’s not just about being shy; it’s about control, emotional independence, and a quiet rebellion against a culture that equates visibility with value. We explore the concepts of psychological ownership, internal locus of control, and the hidden peace found when you detach your worth from digital applause. If you’ve ever felt burnt out by the performance of social media, or wondered about the power of being unseen, this analysis is for you. Discover why sometimes, the most profound things happen quietly, and how non-posters might just be guarding their authenticity in a staged world.
Is social media ruining our lives? In the second episode of Open Minded: Unpacking Anxiety, Kendall sits down with Dr. Jorge Partida, Chief of Psychology at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, to discuss social media addiction, our human need to feel connected, and how both of those things can contribute to feelings of anxiety. Throughout the episode, Kendall and Dr. Partida discuss how to decrease social media addiction and tips for managing inferiority complexes that may develop from comparing our lives to those we see online.

I quit social media for a month… and this is what happened
I never tried anything like this before but I recently got stuck in another episode of depression and I figured, why not give it a try. Quitting social media has expanded my perspective on comparison and succes. I highly recommend everyone to try a social media detox at least once! #socialmediadetox I was inspired to do this detox from watching these videos:
