First and foremost, blog posts are invaluable for SEO because they provide a platform for fresh and relevant content. Search engines like Google consistently prioritize content that is informative, up-to-date, and user-focused. Blog posts offer a flexible format to deliver this type of content. They allow businesses and website owners to share insights, updates, industry news, and other valuable information with their audience.

Moreover, blog posts are a means of targeting long-tail keywords and specific search queries. By crafting well-researched and informative blog posts around niche topics related to your industry or business, you can increase your chances of ranking higher in search results for these keywords. This targeted approach not only enhances your website’s visibility but also attracts more qualified traffic.

Blog posts also foster engagement and interaction. They provide a platform for discussions, comments, and social sharing, which are important engagement signals for search engines. When readers engage with your content by commenting, sharing, or staying on your website longer, it sends positive signals to search engines, indicating that your content is valuable and relevant to your audience.

However, blog posts are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Their effectiveness depends on how they are crafted, optimized, and promoted.

Blog posts remain a powerful and versatile tool in contemporary SEO strategies. When executed effectively, they contribute to improving a website’s visibility, attracting a targeted audience, and engaging users.

However, the SEO landscape is dynamic, and it’s crucial to adapt to changes in search engine algorithms and user preferences.

Integrating blog posts as part of a broader SEO strategy, which includes technical SEO, on-page SEO, and off-page SEO, is a well-rounded approach to achieving success in today’s competitive digital environment.

5 Quick Ways to Improve Your SEO Rankings

SEO is all about the long game, slow and steady wins the race. At our agency, NP Digital, clients stick around with us for years, in our enterprise division, we’re keeping clients for five plus year, that’s a long time. Eventually, we’ll probably start keeping enterprise clients for over seven years, but keep in mind, we’re a newer agency.

So even though SEO is a slow and steady game, it works, but do you really have to wait that long to get the results that you want? The answer is no. There are quick ways to get results, maybe not all the results you want, but you can get immediate results. So let’s break down five tactics to get you quicker results.

RESOURCES & LINKS:

Google Search Console: https://search.google.com/search-console/about
CodeCanyon: https://codecanyon.net/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________

Way number one, find almost ranking phrases. The more keyword that you rank on page one for, the better off you are, because no one really goes to page two. Majority of the traffic’s on page one, and ideally at the top of page one. Did you know that you can find all the terms that you’re raking somewhat well for, and quickly optimize those, so that way you can just pop up to page one? I want you to log to Google Search Console, click on search results, then click on average position, and then scroll down and click on pages.

But when you add those terms within those areas that I just mentioned, your title tags, your content, your URL, it can quickly boost your rankings. Now, keep in mind if you change your URL, you got to do a 301 redirect from your old URL to your new URL, and you got to adjust all your old internal links to make sure they’re going directly to the new URL.

Way number two, add a free tool to your website. I added a free tool called Ubersuggest to my website. It increased my backlink count by 24,453 referring domains. The more links you have, the higher you will rank over time. And here’s a cool thing, you can do this same exact thing to your website. You don’t have to build a tool from scratch like me either, you can just add one to your website for 10, or even 15 or $20. All you have to do is go to a site called CodeCanyon where you combine a tool within your industry and just purchase it, and you can just put it on your website.

You of course won’t generate as many backlinks that I generated through Ubersuggest because I built a custom tool, but over time, as you’re getting results from using tools let’s say from CodeCanyon, or wherever else you can find them on the web, eventually as it starts getting traction, your rankings increase, you start generating more money, then you can invest the time and resources and money to build your own custom tools.

Way number three, add internal links. You publish new content all the time, right? Well if you don’t, you should start doing so, but if your new content doesn’t have backlinks, it won’t rank well. Now links take a while to get, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get results. One quick hack is to go into your older articles and modify it. Within your older articles, add a few links to your newly published articles. This way, your new content starts ranking higher, faster. As a general rule of thumb, only modify old articles that are related to the new one. You don’t want to add internal links unless it makes sense.

Way number four, optimize your meta tags for higher ranking. You don’t have to bill links to rank higher, you can just adjust your meta tags, from your title tag to your meta description, and even as a bonus, optimize your URLs.

Way number five, content is king, so write it in half the time. Look, if you can write your content half the time, in theory, you can produce more, maybe double the amount of content, and generate even more traffic. The caveat here is though the quality needs to be great, not up to par, but great, better than up to par. On Ubersuggest, we have an AI writer that helps you write content. It won’t fully write the content for you, but it starts you off and helps you optimize for the right keywords. From there, you can modify it and create a masterpiece in half the time.

So head on over to Ubersuggest, go to the lab section, and click on AI writer. From there, put in a keyword that you want your article to be about. For this example, I selected marketing, then select the title that works for you, then select a meta description, then select a few headings, and boom, you’ll have article in seconds.

7 Actionable SEO Tips That Are Easy to Implement

Do you want to know why it takes so long for people to see results from their SEO? Well, there are two main reasons. The first is, it just takes time for things to kick in and algorithms to adjust. You can’t really control that, that’s just Google, right? You can’t really speed that up, time is time, they’re going to do their thing when they do their thing.

But there’s another reason why it takes people a long time to get results, and this one is more in your control. It’s that it takes time to implement those SEO changes. And most companies move really slow to make changes on their site and the longer it takes you to implement the changes, the longer it’ll take for you to see results. So today I want to break down seven tips that are easy to implement.

Exploding Topics: https://explodingtopics.com/
hunter.io: https://hunter.io/
CodeCanyon: https://codecanyon.net/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________

Tip number one, everyone has SEO errors. It’s natural because as you adjust your existing pages, or even add new ones, it can always create more errors. So I want you to head to neilpatel.com/ubersuggest. Type in your URL. In the left hand navigation, click on “dashboard” and then click on “add your first project.” Follow the steps, step-by-step.

What you’ll find is Ubersuggest will monitor your site, look at the keywords you want to rank for, look at all the SEO errors you have on your website, but here’s the thing that Ubersuggest does that I love. What it does is, it breaks the errors down from top to bottom, what will have the biggest impact and what’s the easiest to implement? So you want to fix the easy ones first, because they’re at the top and they’ll also have a bigger impact on your rankings. And that way you’ll get better results in a shorter period of time.

Tip number two, speaking of Ubersuggest, it’s also a tool that I added to my own website, neilpatel.com, and I want you to do something similar. It’s so popular that’s generated over 24,000 backlinks. That’s a lot! That’s a lot of extra links that I’m adding to neilpatel.com and it was so effective, I also bought AnswerThePublic and I’m going to integrate that into our portfolio over the up and coming months. Links are popular currency. The more people that link to you, the generally the higher you will rank.

Tip number three, use Google Search Console. It’s a free tool from Google. Log into it and add your website if you already haven’t done so. In Search Console, I want you to look at your traffic.

Tip number four, delete irrelevant pages that no one cares for anymore. See, over time, some of the content on your site will just get old and irrelevant. I’m not talking about outdated. I just mean straight up irrelevant.

Easiest solution, delete those pages and 301 Redirect them to the most relevant pages that are on your website. This will help you keep your site clean and strong from an SEO standpoint.

Tip number five, write on exploding topics. One of the best ways to get traffic, is to write on topics that are just about to get super popular, but aren’t that competitive yet. There’s a tool called exploding topics. It shows you what you should consider going after. And I want you to start writing content on that.

Tip number six, now, this is an easy one, but it costs money. Have you noticed there are a lot of blogs out there? There’s pretty much blogs on everything. Look for one that’s ranking great in your space and has traffic.

You want to take that blog, hit up the site owner, you can usually find their email on the contact page or through tools like hunter.io, and ask them if they want to sell it. Most people will ignore you, some will say yes. If you find some at reasonable prices, buy them, merge it into your website, including their content, and make sure you do the 301 Redirect to the appropriate URL, and once you do that, it’s simple.

Tip number seven, merge content on similar pages. For example, I may have two blog posts on the topic of SEO for beginners. Now this confuses search engines, as they don’t know which one to rank. So what do you do? You merge the pages together. Then you take the URL with less traffic and forward it using a 301 Redirect to the more popular page. This helps solves confusion for the search engines. And in the end, you’ll get more search traffic over time.

Sometimes the Best SEO Strategy Is To ABANDON Some Keywords

I have 9 million visitors and now I’m trying to get less traffic. Today, I want to break down how sometimes the best SEO strategy is to abandon some keywords.

3 SEO Trends in Automation for 2021 (Trend #3 Is Coming Sooner Than You Think): https://youtu.be/Dv-44E0lPog

Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________

Look, neilpatel.com gets roughly eight to 9 million visitors a month. And it ranges, some months are better than others, some months I even had 10 million visitors, some months, there’s seven. Really depends on the season as well.

Now, when I look at neilpatel.com, when I first started off, I wasn’t targeting buyers, I was targeting any keyword that would get high traffic, and I just wanted as much traffic as possible. People were searching on how to make money on Instagram. You know what? Boom, I create a article on that. People want to know how to get more Instagram followers. Boom, I create a article on that. People want to know something about TikTok, even though my customers don’t care to pay me for TikTok marketing, boom, I create a article on that.

Why was I doing that? Well, the main thing is, is I thought the more traffic, the better because a lot of people wanted this traffic and people would pay money to rank for these keywords or more so pay money to get at the top of Google in the paid ads.

And what I learned from that strategy is, if the intent of those keywords doesn’t exactly match what your ideal customer is looking for, you’re getting the traffic, but you won’t make any money. So you’re probably wondering, what am I doing now, right? Well, I’m doing a few different things.

First off, I don’t care for traffic anymore. Yes, I want more traffic, but I want the right traffic. I don’t really care if I have 9 million visitors or 1,000,000 visitors. I really care about conversions and what’s driving those conversions. And I’ve been doing this for a while now.

So I want you to go into Google Analytics, set up some goals and conversion tracking, and look to see what’s driving conversions. Focus more on getting those traffic sources. That’s the first step.

The second thing I want you to do is go and look for what your competitors are paying money on paid ads for. So you can use tools like Ubersuggest and put in your competitor’s URLs. See what keywords are ranking for, see what keywords are targeting for on a paid ad perspective. And that’ll give you a big idea of, hey, these are the keywords we should be going after and these are the keywords that we shouldn’t be going after.

The third thing that I’m doing is focusing on other channels that aren’t necessarily related to keywords. If you look at the big companies out there, Microsoft, IBM, Airbnb, Nike, whatever it may be, they grow their revenue in many different ways.

The next thing that I’m doing is going after keywords that I know I can easily rank for. So if you go to Ubersuggest and you put in a keyword that you know is good, like, I’m in the marketing industry, so I may put in digital marketing, and you’ll see a report that loads and it shows your overall traffic, like, for the term digital marketing and how many people click on it.

And you put your URL in there and it’ll end up breaking out once you put your URL, all the related keywords that are good and that you can easily rank for. And I want you to look at each of those keywords, do some searches, do some research, and make sure that you’re seeing direct competitors, not somewhat competitors, but direct competitors.

And if they are, and they have a high CPC and good traffic, that means I know that that’s a good keyword for me to target in SEO because it will drive sales, which is very important.

And that’s a strategy that I would recommend, and remember, traffic isn’t everything, conversions and sales is. It all starts with tracking your conversions in things like Google Analytics, which they can do for free.

A Step-by-Step SEO Strategy For Beginners | Getting Traffic With Old and New Websites

Starting with someone who has no SEO strategy currently, let’s start there. Do you think there’s a site-wide level of optimization that has to happen? Like, straight up title tag, meta tag, optimization of different queries on the site, an internal linking structure, and then a content marketing strategy on top of that to add value to the site, as a base level SEO strategy? Or what would you suggest to someone who, first level is they don’t currently have an SEO strategy, and then we’ll ask about someone who already does, and what they can optimize, but just base level, if you don’t have one, what do you do in today’s world?

____________________________________________

You know, you can look at keywords, top pages, et cetera. But what I wanted to show you is this is the easiest thing. So you just click on Site Audit. Again, this is free. I don’t even capture an email straight up, this is just free. So you don’t have to put in an email to use it, and it’ll tell you everything that’s wrong. Pages, your score, your load time. And you can be like, “All right, “let’s look at my Issues, or Critical Errors.” And you can just go to all of them, and be like 31 pages have a low word count.

And then you can to Warnings, and you can do the same thing. Two pages have duplicate meta descriptions. So what is it, right? So what is that, and how do I fix it?

It just breaks down everything you need to fix, in priority, from how hard is it to implement, to how much traffic will you get by fixing them? So that’s the first part of SEO, right? It’s just like the lowest hanging fruit. The second part is all about keywords.

So if I’m trying to target the keyword, marketing, and this is super effective, or digital marketing, right? And I use these tactics on my own site. To give you an idea, if I type in digital marketing, I think I’m like number one or two or something. Here’s all the paid listing, and I am the first organic listing. I do that for a lot of terms like online marketing. I’m up there somewhere. I’m number two. Funny enough, number one’s also my website. Although I sold it.

But here’s a simple thing I do. It’s all about finding the right type of keywords, right? The way I find the right type of keywords is, one, you can just type in keywords like digital marketing, or whatever you want to target. Here’s my process.

I go and I look for keywords, and I just click View All Keywords, and it’ll show me everyone who’s ranking, how many links they have, their domain scores, socials, et cetera. So I’ll go find keywords, and it gives me solid metrics. When I mean solid, as in non-opinionated metrics. Like the average webpage that ranks in the top 10 has 435 backlinks and a domain score of 49. So I know, is it going to be easy for me to get 435? Is it going to be hard? because I can have a rough idea of how many links I have.

So I’ll just go through here, and I’ll find keywords. As you can see, there’s like 500 suggestions here. Here are some other related keywords I’ll post from our database. This has 30,000 recommendations.

And then the last step when I’m trying to create content, after I find some keywords that are typically… I look for keywords that are high in volume, high in CPC, and I want to go after keywords that have a low SEO Difficulty.

So that’s abbreviation of SD. It’s like digital marketing company has a high CPC, volume’s not bad, low SEO Difficulty, which means people are typing that in, me being an agency, probably a good keyword to go after, because it probably converts well if people are paying $17 a click.

And the way you do this is you just create content. So there is a Content Ideas section of the tool, and it’ll show you all the content per country, so you can break it down by whatever country, or language, or region you want. And, technically, you can break all the reports down by that. And you want to look for articles that are somewhat popular, because it’s breaking down the social shares, as well as articles that have decent search traffic, as well as a lot of backlinks.

How to Boost Your SEO Traffic with Sleeper Content (And Stop Promoting Worthless Content)

You look at all these SEO tools out there, whether it’s Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz, and you type in a keyword, like I typed in marketing tools here, and you’ll see a SEO difficulty number which tells you how hard it is to rank for that keyword on Google. Now, this data is pulled through backlinks, but how can you figure out if a keyword is really easy or not to rank without going through all the effort of promoting the content? Today I’m going to break down how you can increase your traffic through sleeper content.

How to Do SEO For A Tiny Site With No Backlinks (video): https://youtu.be/Y772PSqmudo

My Favorite SEO Hack to Increase Website Traffic (video): https://youtu.be/WTWZQ_4_zNk
____________________________________________

As I mentioned earlier, if you use a SEO tool and you type in any keyword, whether it’s marketing tools or even just something like marketing, you’ll see how difficult it is to rank for a keyword. And some of these keywords are really easy to rank for. Some of them are much harder to rank for. But does that mean that you can’t rank for these keywords if you don’t have a ton of backlinks? No, that’s not the case, and the reason being is Google uses many factors. Links are just one aspect of it. Traffic without putting tones of effort through sleeper content.

So let’s head over to the neilpatel.com website. As you can see here, here’s my homepage. Scroll down, a little bit about me. And then now let’s go to the blog where you can find all my content. Now I’m going to show you my content. I want you to see what’s off, okay.

Some have little to no comments, like 12 or 8. But why is that? Why are some posts doing extremely well and others aren’t? Well, I’m going to share a little secret with you. The posts that tend to have a lot of comments I promote. I push on social media, like Facebook, Instagram, videos, and my live sessions. I’ll cross-link to them more. I even do email blasts, push notification blasts.

I give a ton to promote them so that way people get to know that content, they want to share that content, and hopefully it ranks higher. But you can only send so many email blasts in a day. You can only send so many push notification blasts. You can only promote so many posts on Facebook on your fan page before your audience gets irritated that you’re sharing five pieces of content a day.

So let me tell you a little secret on what I do. I create a ton of sleeper content.

I’ll cross-link. I’ll promote it more. I’ll try to build links by manually outreaching to sites. I’ll push it on social media. I may even do the email blast. But what I’m doing is I’m creating tones of content and publishing it. But most of my content that I publish like that, this is what I call sleeper content, which if you’re publishing it, you’re not really telling too many people about it, you’re not marketing it, it doesn’t all rank.

A lot of these pages that I’m writing content on aren’t ranking in the top 10 results or top 10 pages on Google. But a good portion of them are, and all I’m doing is just publishing content. The moment it gets to page two, I’ll start doing more marketing to try to get it to page one. And really what I’m looking at is not if it hits page two. I’m looking to see if it hits the top of page two or bottom of page one.

I’ve been doing this strategy for years. It works really well. And you probably haven’t seen a lot of this content because I don’t push it out in email blasts or social media mentions, but it works really well, and that’s how I’ve grown my traffic to millions of visitors a month. So let me know your thoughts. Curious if you like this strategy.

My Favorite SEO Report – Uncover Your Competitors’ SEO Strategy in a Few Clicks

There’s over 200 ranking factors in Google’s algorithm. So, how the heck are you going to have all the time to keep up with all of them, so you can improve your rankings and your traffic? There must be an easier way, or maybe even one report that you can use to grow your traffic. Today I’m going to break down my favorite SEO report.

RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
HubSpot: https://www.hubspot.com/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________

The thing about SEO is a lot of tools out there have very similar reports and features. And the feature I’m going to end up breaking down. I do it through Ubersuggest because you can get it for free, or if you want to pay for it, there’s a lot of other SEO tools that also have this feature.

So, I want you to go to neilpatel.com/ubersuggest and put in your domain name. If you don’t have a lot of traffic, then put putting one of your competitor’s domains that is much more popular. If you’re not sure who one of your competitors would be, just do a Google search.

Now you’ll find that some of these websites aren’t too similar and some of them are. So, as I’m going through them, I’m going to take out the ones that I know aren’t that similar.

And then now I have a decent list of competitors that I know that are similar and I do compete with on a regular basis. Even if, they don’t do the same exact business as you if you know that they talk about some of the same stuff and they write similar blog posts.

Now what this report shows you is how many keywords your site is getting traffic for, and how many keywords your competitors are getting.

I actually want you to focus on keywords gap. What keywords gap is, it shows you all the keywords that your competitors rank for, that you don’t rank for. And that’s why this is my favorite SEO report. The reason being is this gives me a big list of new keywords that I should be targeting that I may not be.

And what you’ll find is that some of the keywords that your competitors rank for is not really relevant for your company, like, how to get your contacts? HubSpot offers an email tool.

And I would make a list of all the keywords that my competitors rank for that I don’t. And then I want to use that to come up with a list of keywords that I should be going after that are relevant for my business.

Like, again, I wouldn’t want to rank for two factor authentication options but I would want to rank for long scroll website examples, the reason being is we offer conversion optimization services at my ad agency. NP Digital, and some people may be looking for long sales letter type web pages and they can use that to potentially get more leads, or types of demand in marketing.

You know, if people are looking for demand marketing or inbound marketing or unknown contacts on Facebook messenger, not too relevant, but maybe somewhat. And I would do this for a lot of my competitors.

So, if I do this for every single one of my competitors and I’m going to click view all again to close it. And I do it for all the competitors that are relevant, what ends up happening is, this all now have a massive list of keywords that I should be going after, that I want other people to find me for or new people to find me for, my competition ranks for an item. That’s why this is my favorite SEO report.

And then you would just go and create content around those topics. And if you’re not familiar with, hey, what kind of content should I create around these topics? You just Google them. So, one of the keywords was Facebook business manager. So, when I google Facebook business manager, there’s Facebook, there’s Hootsuite example how to use Facebook business manager.

And this could be a great example of all right, what kind of content do I need to create if I want to rank at the top? And if you do this for all those keywords you’ll get an idea of what you need to do to get more traffic from new keywords.

So that’s it. I recommend that you check out that report. It’s really easy to use. There’s a free version of it as well.

Are you getting the right traffic?

As I mentioned, picking the right keywords will make you more money and picking the wrong ones will hurt you

You can use Ubersuggest, It’s a tool I built, there’s a free version of it that anyone can go and use and you can get tons of keywords ideas and it breaks it down not just based on popularity, but also what’s most likely going to convert and generate you revenue as well. And there’s tons of reports in it and I’ll show you how to use it over the period of this course.

When you go to Ubersuggest on the left-hand navigation side, you’ll see a link that says Keyword Ideas. When you type it in a keyword that you’re trying to go after anything related to your space such as like shaving or razors, it’ll tell you what’s popular, the cost per click, the SEO difficulty, that’s the word SD you see the abbreviation there or PD is paid difficulty.

When SEO difficulty is under 40 it’s easier to rank for, when it’s over 40 it gets harder and harder to rank for.

And on the right side of the keyword ideas report, it shows you all the people that are ranked for that keyword. How many visits are roughly getting from that keyword? How many backlinks they have?

And this will give you ideas of if a keyword is good, right?

In addition to that, if you don’t want to use Ubersuggest there’s many other ways you can go and find keywords out there.

Things like Wikipedia or other content pages around the web that have really detailed content can give you keyword ideas as well because these articles are filled with lucrative keywords.

You want to rank because you not only do you want traffic, but you need to be able to solve the customer’s problem. If you solve their problem, you’re much more likely to rank.

There’s really five steps to keyword success.
The first is you need to build your keyword list, then need to research your target musketeer, then you need to understand the keyword metrics. Next you need to match the customer journey and of course, last but not least, you need to refine your keyword list.

So first building a keyword list, you go to neilpatel.com/training and you’ll be able to download the PDF there and it breaks down how you can use it and what you need to do step by step.

Second, you need to research your target musketeer right? It’s all about researching that individual.

The other thing that I like doing is Ubersuggest, right? It’s a tool on neilpatel.com you can go to neil patel.com/ubersuggest or in the navigation just click on the Tools link and then Ubersuggest type in any keyword on the left-hand navigation once you go to the Keyword Ideas Report, you’ll see a list of suggestions.

You don’t want to just be reactive as a marketer or as an SEO, you want to be proactive and going after areas that people are going to be more interested in in the future.

You can also correlate intent through prepositions. And these are all long-term opportunities that you should be trying to rank for because these long-tail keywords, a lot of people aren’t thinking about them and yes they don’t drive the most amount of traffic today but six months from now, a year from now, it adds up and it can drive quite a bit in conversions.

Then of course there’s Social Shares, so on Ubersuggest whenever you type in a keyword on the left hand navigation, there’s a navigation button called Content Ideas.

So people are like, Hey Neil, it’s easy for you but hey, when you’re a new website and even if you get 10, 20, 50, 100 visitors, hey, it shows up in Google Search Console.

The other thing that you can do and this is what I love doing, is I like setting up a project on Ubersuggest and I put in my own website or you can put in your competitor’s website.
